Our Vision Statement
Zion: A church connecting people to God, to the Body of Christ, to the community, and to the world, through the love of Jesus and the power of the Holy Spirit
This statement is to be understood in the following ways:Connecting People to God
- through vibrant worship blending the contemporary and the traditional
- through the preaching of Jesus, crucified, risen and coming again
- through the promotion of individual and group Bible study
- through the administration of the sacraments and church discipline
- through prayer and healing ministry and,
- through a full program of Christian Education at all levels.
Connecting People to the Body of Christ
- by helping all members to discover their gifts
- by helping them serve and minister through their giftedness
- by encouraging them to be part of a small, mutual-care group.
- through the service of office-bearers in the Body of Christ
- through involvement in the Regional Body with other Durham churches and ministries, and
- by encouraging them to be involved with the world-wide Body through the CRCNA
Connecting People to the Community
- through outreach efforts motivated by Oshawa/Durham Region’s needs
- through outreach efforts energized by our own giftedness,
- through cooperative educational efforts at all grade levels, and
- through cooperative political efforts to promote Kingdom values within the community
Connecting People to the World
- by supporting world-relief efforts,
- by being part of mission outreach,
- by supporting ministries which aid the persecuted church, and
- by advocating global social justice.
